This was our motto for SRLA this
year. It has been a busy year for the Stonebridge Ranch
Ladies Association. SRLA, through its special events and
fund raising efforts, is dedicated to supporting the
families of their community and they certainly have
demonstrated that this year. Not only have their
membership numbers almost doubled, but these Ladies have
raised more money than ever!
Your support of SRLA in the past has
been important to the organization's growth and success.
We need your continued support as our community grows,
and therefore it's needs grow.
SRLA was named “Civic Organization of
the Year” by Hope’s Door in 2007 and honored at a
banquet with many distinguished guests from the Dallas
area. Once again, this year, the Ladies presented Hope’s
Door with a check for almost $8000! These proceeds were
from their annual spring fashion show that takes place
each March. Additionally, the Ladies raised $16,000 for
scholarships for in-need women in Collin County through
their two yard sales.
When the need came in last year to
step up and help hurricane victims, the Ladies answered
the call once more, raising money to help a young family
displaced by Katrina. Money was also raised and given to
the Clothe-A-Child program, Children’s Medical Center
Dallas, Avenues Counseling Center, American Legion
Thanksgiving/Easter Basket programs, SPCA, and Project
Graduation. Additionally, in-need McKinney ISD students
received necessary medical assistance they could not
afford and two autistic children will go to summer camp
this year thanks to SRLA. On going programs include
support for the McKinney Food Pantry, McKinney Teen
MOPS, Angel Tree, Samaritan Inn, SRLA’s special
assistance fund and Cell Phones for Soldiers.
I would like to invite you to attend
our meetings this year. Collectively, we can Work Hard,
Play Hard, Give (even) Bigger than last year.
